It’s almost here! Join us for all of the fantastic fun and camaraderie that is St. Patrick’s Day at The Shanty. We have a great selection of Irish brews and liquor to lift your spirits and, as always, the bar will be decked in the colors of the Emerald Isle. Live bagpipe music and various promotions will be taking place throughout the day. Doors open at noon and the fun will go until 2:00am. For more information as well as funny anecdotes and updates, be sure to follow our Facebook page.
On Monday, January 26th, Alliance Beverage will be holding the annual Guinness Perfect Pour Competition. Bartenders from over 15 local bars and restaurants will be competing to show their skills on producing a “perfect” Guinness pint. Competing this year from The Shanty will be our very own Corey. Drop by and cheer him on as he challenges the rest of Tucson on how beer pouring should be done.
This year’s event will be held at Maloney’s, across the street from The Shanty. Registration for the contestants and a reception hour will begin at 6:00pm. The actual competition is scheduled for 7:00pm until 9:00pm. Following the event, drop by the bar and enjoy a delicious brew. We hope to see you all there!
The Shanty has been a Tucson tradition since 1937. The bar was started by Donna Nugent and has remained within the Nugent family for its existence. The bar is not for sale. As a result, any rumors concerning the sale of The Shanty are untrue.
Welcome to the first 2nd Saturday of the year! If you’ve never been to Tucson’s monthly festival, you’re in for a treat. Several areas are closed and various vendors, food carts and music stages are erected to please visitors. The action continues on Fourth Avenue, where some of the bars and restaurants feature specials and entertainment to keep the fun going.
Please join us at The Shanty this 2nd Saturday. Often, there is live bagpipe music in the evening. Have a blast, enjoy a great beer and help us celebrate the start of another great year!
